REMOVAL: Response, Monitoring and Validation, Libya

September 19, 2012

UNDP Libya program supports rehabilitation of infrastructure to improve access to social services for Libyan citizens throughout the country.  Rehabilitation includes civil works in education, health care, water and sanitation sectors, safety and signage to improve road travel (installation of street railing and solar street lighting are examples), as well as in refuse disposal sector.  UNDP Libya has acted to put in place additional measures to ensure quality, and integrity of, civil works implemented by UNDP programmes throughout Libya.  The plan named REMOVAL builds on standard UNDP global best practices, carefully aligning, sequencing operations and reinforcing transparency through government and public participation and 3rd Party monitors. These measures, which are now standard practice for UNDP Libya, ensure the quality and integrity of our civil works operations.
